Launching tonight, Tuesday, 29 April 2008, is Clipz, a weekly 24-minute collection of the best clips and videos doing the rounds on email and the web from one week to the next. Presented by 94.7's Darren "Whackhead" Simpson, this new M-Net Original Production will feature all those funnies that had people talking, laughing or hitting the "forward" button.

The show's format includes a variety of categories which will allow viewers to witness the mania of bizarre foreign clips and videos that have captured the public's attention.

In the premiere episode of Clipz you can catch The Top 10 list where Simpson will count down the Top 10 Wipe Outs. These are clips in which people are literally wiped out while doing both everyday and unusual tasks. Viewers can also look forward to The Truth Revealed, featuring a clip of someone speaking or demonstrating the undeniable truth. In the first episode, some rather "candid" wedding vows are exhibited. An exclusive highlight of the show is "What's on www.mnet.co.za?: M-Net has a lot of supporting material for its various shows - which is exclusive to the website. This section of the show previews what is available online; this week we go behind the scenes of the M-Net series Life to showcase cast interviews from Samantha Who. Throughout the season, Clipz will feature a host of other categories, some hilarious, others completely bizarre, and a little in between!

In the feature The Unexplained, Clipz presents puzzling but entertaining items of an unexplained and mind-boggling nature, where you can guess what's being shown in the clip. There will also be a Weekly Theme and the first episode will play back a comical selection of animal antics.

Nowadays almost anyone can make a special effects clip and the Clipz segment called Is it Real or Not? is an example of this. It's almost impossible to tell if what you're seeing has been fabricated. In the first episode, the verdict is out about a rather impressive springboard moment. The Internet has also created a lot of online personalities and each week Clipz will introduce a few of them in Internet Celebs. In episode one, Numa Numa Kid, That Kid from Brooklyn and Star Wars Kid are introduced.

The beauty of the 'Net is the way in which it transcends borders, connecting us to foreign cultures. Even so, the meaning of what we are looking at is often lost in translation, so each week the show also brings in a clip from a foreign culture, crazy as it may seem. Naturally, this segment is called Lost In Translation... In episode one, we have front row seats at a Japanese game show.
