A house breaking spree for two Zimbabwean youths ended tragically when they were seriously assaulted and injured by their victim at Tati Siding village in the early hours of Monday morning.
Bokani Bheki Moyo and Frank David, both aged 23, found themselves in hot soup when the owner of the house they had broken into knocked some sense into their wicked heads with a softball bat. It is alleged that the owner of the house, Modiri Motswaiso, lay undercover when the thieves broke into his house. Since the thieves thought there was no one at home, they credited themselves with some leftovers of rice after they finished looting the house. It was then that the owner of the house who had been watching the thieves carefully appeared from his hiding place and started hammering the young men with a bat until they became very weak.
By the time the police arrived at the scene, the suspects were bleeding profusely with serious injuries all over the body.
Gerald police station commander, Motsholathebe Mothibi, confirmed the incident and revealed that two young men were admitted in hospital under critical condition after the owner of the house they broke into attacked them with a softball bat.
Mothibi said the two, both from Zimbabwe, were found in a pool of blood after members of the public who rushed to the house called the police.

"The men were seriously injured such that they had to be rushed to hospital were they were admitted in the intensive care unit under critical condition," said Mothibi revealing that the police had already opened a charge of armed robbery against the duo.
He also revealed that the two had broken into another house earlier on before entering the house where they were bitten severely. "The bloody knives which the suspects were armed with were also picked at the scene," said Mothibi.
The officer said the two would be taken before a court of law if and when they recover from the injuries they sustained during the attack.
