Two years later, and the 2008 Five Roses Thari ya Sechaba Awards have returned with an incredible addition to their five mainstream categories. An Honorary Award launched this year will be presented at the glitzy 2008 Five Roses Thari ya Sechaba Awards ceremony.

The Honorary Award will recognize and celebrate the innovative work of a Motswana who has distinguished herself in any field, and by her achievements has helped to enhance a positive image of Botswana and drawn international attention to the importance of Batswana women's contribution to the global socio-economic development.

This person ultimately is a role model with integrity and good character that is worthy of emulation and the accolade of the Honorary Award. With the newly launched Honorary Award Five Roses wishes to inform the people of Botswana about the tireless commitment, inspiring work and devotion of Batswana women to the wellbeing of the global community. Five Roses believes that these inspirational women deserve to be awarded the newly launched Honorary Award and commits to giving these special women the well deserved recognition. Five Roses realizes that achievements such as these are the very embodiment of what the Roses Thari ya Sechaba Awards are all about
