The Foundation for International Dignity (FIND) will today launch an integrating human rights concept into local community leadership, an OSIWA/FIND project to be held in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, geared toward providing possibility for sustainability.
Addressing newsmen on Monday about the events in the South East, FIND Regional Program Officer, Dixon Gblah and National Program Coordinator Roosevelt Woods said that the project is aimed at ushering continuous collaboration with both partners through the promotion of human rights issues in open societies.
They said it is just the concept of empowering local communities so that they can better advocate for their own needs.
The FIND executives said the project is focused on societies that have been marginalized so as to encourage them to integrate and participate in what affect their lives both economically and socially.
FIND believes that such event would help communities break away from the old order of having others advocate on their behalf when what is to be put on the table is solely what affect them personally and collectively.
The project is a one year renewable contract with an estimated US$45,000 budget with the hope that if it succeeds in the South East, it would be matured to go across the country.
FIND National Program Officer, Daniel Johnson will officially launch the project while officials of OSIWA are expected to grace the ceremony.
