Ghetto traditional rivals Tafic and Tasc will be at each other's throats once again this weekend as, apart from bragging rights to the second city, they will be struggling for a place in the top half of the league table.

The Machimenyenga Boys have already climbed to the safety zone following last weekend's 2-1 assault of BMC in a victory that elevated them to the eighth spot.

This weekend loyalties will be divided as sets of fans from both sides will be cheering their respective teams in a bid to push them away from the wrong end of the league table. The two teams have been evenly matched in their recent meetings and tomorrow the 'Red devils' will be keen to maintain the record as they seek to avenge the 1-0 loss that they suffered in the first round. Club PRO Jones Mosweu has a lot of confidence in their newly signed coach Willard Khumalo who has since taken over from caretaker coach Ntime Ntime.

"Khumalo has made a whole lot of difference since his arrival at the club and indications are that had he come earlier we would be in a very respectable position. Since his arrival we've lost only two of the six games that we played. He's very determined and for us the only way is up."

The only way may be up for Tafic but Mosweu is aware that their remaining five games may either make or break their ambitions. The bottom two teams who are left with six games each have mathematical chances of catching up with Tafic, and the Reds have to guard against losing form lest they find themselves in the play-offs lottery or, worst, deep in the relegation quagmire.

Tasc, who are much closer to the chop than their weekend opponents, improved their position as they went one notch higher on the league table after their two-all draw against Township Rollers in Francistown last weekend. Their remaining fixtures are a constant reminder of a relegation possibility as, besides Tafic, they are left with daunting fixtures against Gaborone United, Jwaneng Comets, Notwane and Nico United.
