Armed robbers have reportedly gone on the rampage in Lofa County and took away several valuables and unspecified amount of money.

Lofa County Superintendent, Galakpai W. Kortimai disclosed that the armed robbers have in recent times stormed several towns in the county.

Last weekend, Superintendent Kortimai said a group of men carrying cutlasses and other harmful objects attacked a video club in central Voinjama and made away with valuable items including video-set and money.

As to where the armed robbers might have come and escape to, the Superintendent noted "We have information that the Guinea authority is in hot pursuit of notorious bandits in that country, some of whom have reportedly crossed over to Liberia."

Lofa County shares border with the Republic of Guinea.

"We have cautioned all residents of Voinjama to report visitors or individuals to our office so as to be acquainted with their activities," Kortima said.
