Luanda — Angolan deputy minister of Energy and Water Affairs, Rui Tito, will Wednesday attend, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) a meeting of the sector destined to assess the functioning of the West Corridor.
The government official, who has already left the country for Kinshasa, said that the management office of West Corridor had been created with the objective to conduct the studies on the analysis of the conditions to establish the lines that will transport the electrical power from Inga dam (DR Congo) to other Southern African region countries. According to the deputy minister, the meeting will count on the participation of the Energy Ministers of DR Congo, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa, all member States of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
However, Mr Tito said that each country will participate in the project with 20 percent of the expenses, through its national power supply companies. Angola will be represented by the National Company of Electricity (ENE), whose officials will also participate at the meeting.
