The seminar on media and elections in Angola, promoted by the Journalists Training Centre (CEFOJOR) will proceed this Wednesday, here, with the debate on the topic "Importance of media in electoral civic education", ANGOP learnt.

Sociologist Paulo de Carvalho will address this theme.

This Wednesday, participants will also debate on "The journalistic objectivity in the electoral coverage" that will be lectured by the Portuguese journalist Luis Costa Ribas, and "The American electoral system", by the political adviser of the US Embassy in Angola, Michell Ferguson, and "The electoral coverage in Angola - 1992 experience", which will be addressed by the Angolan MP, João Melo.

On the first day, the participants debated about "The role of the press in the consolidation of democracy", "The social communication (media) in the electoral legislation", and "Strategies of electoral coverage on radio, television and press".

The two-day workshop is being attended by 150 journalists from private and state-run media organs of Brazil, Portugal, South Africa, Great Britain and of the United States of America.
