67 students from the Netherlands have started a campaign for sharing practical life experience with Ethiopian students.

During their 12-day stay here in Ethiopia the students will interact with their local counterparts in Addis Ababa Kotebe Teachers' College, Debre Birhan Teachers College and Woliso TVET.

The visiting students are from Teachers' Training Institutes (TTI) in the Netherlands. The idea of the campaign is to make students exchange information and get knowledge with students abroad.

Edukans Foundation officials, a Netherlands body, sent the team.

After the Experience the Dutch students will raise funds for several projects they have visited in Ethiopia.

Aniley Amenti, Manger of Education Expertise Centre, facilitator of this campaign, said that these students will create friendship with fellow Ethiopian students and they will get the opportunity to know about each others culture, language and music through practical assignment. "It is to create link between generations and to make them knowledgeable about other cultures and life style".

He also explained that the students in both sides are engaging in the same profession, which is teaching so that they are also exchanging professional ideas.

"They will try to explore the life of students, what do children in Ethiopia strive for, what are their hopes and fears? Therefore the Dutch group not only watches, but participates in activities of Ethiopian children, youngsters and students." They make observations, visit projects, interact with peers, conduct interviews, engage in practical work, participate in singing and dancing and they all are going to teach. Also they are sharing the Netherlands experience for Ethiopian students, the manager added.

Educational Expertise Center is a local NGO, committed to facilitate linking and learning: networking of stakeholders and provides lobbying and advocacy platform and is a local front office for Edukans foundation. Edukans foundation -Netherlands is an International NGO which is helping numbers of local NGO's in Ethiopia.
