Liberia: Redeemed Christian Church Clarifies Marijuana Story

30 April 2008

Monrovia — The pastoral board of the Redeemed Christian Church of God located on 24th Street says none of its members have been involved in drug deal as reported in the media recently.

The church clarified that it is different from the Redeemed Christian Ministry, whose pastor Ben Daniels was caught with marijuana by police in Gbanga, Bong County.

In a release issued Tuesday, the Redeemed Christian Church of God said it wants the public to be aware that it is a district church established since 1952 with its international headquarters based in Nigeria, while Pastor E.A. Adeboye is the General Overseer.

The Liberia branch was established in 1996 and had been known for doing God's business, including catering to the spiritual needs of its members.

According to the church, it has 26 branches in Monrovia, Zwedru, Harper, Pleebo, and Nimba County.
