Monrovia — When The NEWS newspaper celebrated its 19th anniversary last Saturday, it was not only time to merry make and reflect on the past, but also, it was an occasion that several individuals and institutions identified with the paper in a positive way.
Amongst the institutions which identified with the paper was the Catholic-run radio station, Veritas, which unexpectedly presented a beautiful wooden frame with the inscription "Congratulations! on your 19th anniversary from the Radio Veritas family."
It is unusual for a media institution to present gift to another media institution.
Therefore, when Veritas' acting station manager, Ade-wede Kerkula presented the gift to the paper's Editor-in-Chief, Sheriff Z. Adams last week, he and other staff of the paper were stunned.
Madam Kerkula said the gift was Veritas' way of identifying with the paper and recognizing its tremendous contribution to society.
In response, Mr. Adams said he was amazed that Radio Veritas would present a gift in recognition for the paper 19th anniversary.
He extended gratitude to the management and staff of the station for their thoughtfulness and creativity in identifying with the paper.
