Luanda — The Culture Ministry will build more infrastructures with aim of stimulating people to join dance activities and other art forms practiced in halls, on Tuesday announced the incumbent Minister, Boaventura Cardoso.
Speaking to the press, in the sidelines of the closing of the workshop to commemorate the International Dance Day, minister Boaventura Cardoso added that in the first stage it will be created a higher arts institute and a medium one, both in Luanda Province.
"Angola's dance groups have many shortcomings and the elements that compose them have no training. With an academic curriculum their performance on the stage will be better, he said".
Boaventura Cardoso called on businessmen, institutions and cultural promoters, to aid the Culture Ministry in promoting dances in the country.
On her turn, choreographer Ana Clara Guerra Marques said the Culture Ministry and other institutions should research the habits of the different peoples comprising Angola not to lose the dances that characterise certain regions.
At the closing ceremony were handed over merit diplomas to Ana Guerra Marques and to Irene Tassembedo of Burkina Faso.
