Nairobi — Religious leaders support plans to review reports on disputed land cases.
The Anglican Church and the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya said they supported Lands minister, Mr James Orengo's plan to revisit recommendations made on land reforms.
They called on the minister to act on the Ndung'u land report and others gathering dust in his office.
Mombasa Anglican Bishop Julius Kalu said: "Let the minister act on the reports before him. There is no need of setting up others and failing to act on them."
The organising secretary of the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya, Sheikh Mohammed Khalifa, said Kenyans were tired of commissions.
Meanwhile, the Government has been asked to improve revenue collection and ensure that business people pay taxes promptly.
Coast Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Chairperson, Mrs Sureya Hersi, said this would ensure the common man was not overburdened with taxes.
"The Grand Coalition Government must find ways of getting more income," she said.
