Africa's fastest man in the 100m, Olusoji Adetokunboh Fasuba expectedly made it to his third consecutive 100m finals of the African Athletics Championships at the Addis Ababa stadium as he led a Nigerian duo of himself and Uche Emedolu into today's final in while Olufunke Adeoye won the bronze in the women's hammer throw Fasuba is seeking to become the first man to win three 100m titles back-to-back in the history of the championships.

Meanwhile Hammer girl, Adeoye failed to hold onto her number two position in Africa as she was relegated to the third position in the event perennial winner, Marwa Hussein won again with 62.26m achieved with her penultimate throw of the event while Nigeria-born Ezeh F from Togo picked the silver with her last throw. in the competition (61.26) with Adeoye winning the bronze with her second throw in the competition.
