Loenie Laure Nlanga, a Masters Degree student of the University of Douala, has emerged winner of this year's budding music talent contest dubbed Stars2demain.
Nlanga, 23, out sang her two rivals: Engola Verushka from the University of Yaounde and Narcisse Anvame, also from Yaounde, during a final round of the music singing competition that took place at the St John's Plaza at Bonapriso, Douala, on Wednesday, April 23.
The contest was launched in 2006 by a France-based Cameroonian duo, Silo Same Ouandji Patrice and Poddany Arnaurd. The Media Relations officer for the Stars2demain, Herve Endong, told this reporter that the winner would benefit by having the production of her maiden album financed and a monthly FCFA 100,000 allowance, for 12 months.
Veruska and Anvame emerged second and third respectively, and would benefit from the opportunity of producing a group album, which shall feature the first five runners up plus the laureate. Denis Achalle from Buea was the pioneer winner in 2006 and already has an album in the market.

But the 2007 champion, Marguerite Goufack is yet to have hers out. By now, her own product should have been out but for some misunderstanding between her and the promoters, Goufack, admitted. She however said that things could soon be sorted out.
Like last year, Herve Endong revealed, the three winners shall also bag home prizes from other sponsors like Orange, Seme Mineral Water, Canal 2, SOTICAM and Colgate.
He added that the competition rolled off with 7500 candidates from the Northwest, Southwest, Central, Littoral, South and East provinces. After an initial selection exercise, 48 were retained for the final phase.
