Angola: Parliament Speaker Advises Journalists to Avoid Bias

Luanda — Angolan Parliament Speaker, Roberto de Almeida, Wednesday evening, in Luanda, advised Angolan journalists to do their best for rigor, objectivity, impartiality and integrity, in order to render a service of quality to the Angolan people.

Speaking to the press at the end of the National Journalism Gala Award, that took place at the Tropical Cinema, Roberto de Almeida stressed that by doing so the national journalists will be in condition to contribute to the development of the country, as well as sensitise the population to participate actively in actions towards the enlargement of Angolans.

Regarding the award, the parliament speaker showed satisfaction for the initiative of the Government, since it constitutes a way of valuing and recognising the work of mass media professionals during the various stages that marked the country.

"It is very interesting. For the first time rewarding the best journalists who for many years dedicated to the activity, analysed by the national judge", Mr De Almeida said.

Roberto de Almeida expressed also satisfaction with the quality of the cultural show presented by singers and the Kilandukilo Traditional Ballet that animated the gala.

Tropical Cinema had on its stage singers such as Bangão, Ary, Dom Caetano and Matias Dámasio, backed up by Movimento band.
