Uganda: President Commissions Yumbe Court

President Yoweri Museveni has saluted the Danish government for funding the construction of court buildings in the country, including Yumbe District Magistrates' Court that he commissioned on Wednesday. The facility cost Shs400 million.

President Museveni also commended Yumbe District administration for providing the land for the building adding that the construction of the facility constituted real material contribution by the Government of Denmark.

President Museveni urged the Danish Agency for International Development Agency to help in modernizing the collection of testimonies and information of courts of law in the country.

He paid special tribute to Denmark for donating US$28 million or the rehabilitation of Entebbe International Airport runway that is now complete. He also thanked that country, for providing milk coolers producing areas in Western Uganda.

The President called on Denmark to assist Uganda in the fight against corruption. The Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Ben Odoki, saluted President Museveni for commissioning the facility.
