The preparations for the holding of the African Cup of Nations (CAN2010), in the Angolan capital, Luanda, are on good track as expected by CAF, informed this Thursday the inspector of the organisation in charge of the sport in the continent and co-ordinator of the competition, Mohamed Raouraoua.

According to the source at the end of inspection visits to Cidadela stadium, Catetão field and to Sagrada Esperança clinic, as well as to Continental, Costa and Alvalade hotels, in Luanda, are all on good rhythm for the success of the tournament.

"For what we have seen everything is alright, I hope that other provinces have the same conditions", stressed the source. After this affirmation he recommended some remodifications at the stands of Catetão and Cidadela (venues set for training).

At the clinic, Mohamed Raouraoua, who is also the president of the Algerian Football Federation, asked for information on the equipment of cardiology, reanimating and the conditions of evacuations abroad, which were ready given by the medical team of the referred centre.

He was also informed about the intention of using an emergency helicopter, bearing in mind the road traffic. A landing area, close to the clinic, is already being planned for the purpose.

On Friday, the CAF delegates will travel to northern Cabinda province, followed by Lubango and Benguela, since these will also host CAN matches.
