The First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe yesterday toured homesteads of victims of political violence at Rusununguko Village Two in the Mayo resettlement area in Manicaland province where she donated $10 billion each towards reconstruction of homes to the affected 10 families.

Amai Mugabe who was accompanied by her elder sister Mrs Junior Gumbochuma donated 233 pairs of shoes, 120kg of sugar, 120 bottles of cooking oil, 200kg of flour, 47 blankets and 1 000kg of mealie meal and clothes to the families.

"I am not here on a joyous visit but to help families who lost their homes from both Zanu-PF and MDC-T.

"It is imperative that people become mature in politics and learn to live together as events of a fortnight ago are nothing to be happy about," she said.

Amai Mugabe said Zimbabweans should show the world they were tolerant a people and the violence like that which rocked Kenya after elections could not be repeated in this country.

She said Zimbabweans should shun violence because through violence they would be playing in the will of the west.

Amai Mugabe said the Presidency of the country could only be attained through constitutional means and not violence.

"Through violence and destruction no one can become a president. Violence is foreign to Zimbabwe and Africa but a propagation of the West," said Amai Mugabe.

She castigated some regional leaders for betraying the goals of liberation movements and dancing to the tune of neo-liberals and the Western agenda.

The First Lady called on the Zanu-PF leadership to be sincere to party principles and be on the lookout for sell-outs who were seeking glory at the expense of the country's sovereignty.

"There is a lot of corruption in the party and let's fish out those sell-outs who see glory and cannot stand by principles and the founding goals of the struggle."

She said even if Zanu-PF loses the elections she would not leave Zimbabwe because it was her country of birth.

Speaking at the same occasion, Manicaland Provincial Governor and Resident Minister Cde Tinaye Chigudu castigated violence saying the goods donated by Amai Mugabe could have been given to the elderly and less privileged.

"Upon hearing of the bad experiences that befell you, Amai Mugabe has brought these goods but such resources should have been panelled towards assisting the elderly and the less privileged amongst us," Cde Chigudu said.

He also said the victims should be grateful for Amai Mugabe's sign of love that did not take into consideration political differences.
