The Eritrean Mufti, Sheik Al-Amin Osman Al-Amin, said that the nation's historical and holy places are vivid demonstration of our civilization, harmony and unity, and as such should be preserved and bequeathed to the young generation. He made the remarks during a visit to the port city of Massawa.
The Mufti, accompanied by members of the Northern Red Sea region's museum, visited the ancient A'Sahaba Mosque that was constructed in 614 A.D., during which he received briefings regarding the history and impact of the mosque. Sheik Al-Amin explained that the Office of the Eritrean Mufti, in collaboration with the regional museum, is making efforts to familiarize the world public with the historical site.
Noting that they are doing their level best to preserve and acquaint the ancient mosque with visitors, the members of the museum called on the Office of the Mufti to enhance its collaboration in studying and documenting such a potential.
Moreover, Sheik Al-Amin visited Massawa International Airport, the Free Economic Zone, the Sponge Factory and the School of Engineering, during which he received briefings by pertinent bodies.
Sheik Al-Amin called on citizens to enhance mutual cooperation and respect and reinforce unity through coping with temporary problems.

It very important to aware the people about their heritage of the past. Above all most of the higher authorities have very low awareness on the importance of the heritage.
