Angola: Media Deputy Minister Opens World Press Freedom Day

Social Communication deputy minister, Manuel Miguel de Carvalho "Wadijimbi" is expected this Saturday in Huambo Province to lead the central act of the World Press Freedom Day commemorations, marked on May 3, ANGOP learnt.

According to the agenda, the deputy minister will have a courtesy meeting with the acting governor of the province, Henrique Barbosa, to get informed about the social and economic situation of the region.

During his stay in the province, the deputy minister will close a seminar on "The Media and the elections", which started Friday in this city, in which more than fifty journalists from Huambo, Benguela, Bié and Kwanza Sul provinces are participating.

Manuel Miguel de Carvalho "Wadijimbi" will also visit the Social Communication department of Huambo Province, followed by a meeting with its workers, as well as get information on the state-owned RNA radio station provincial branch.

The agenda includes also a visit to the journalists training centre, among other activities.
