Luanda — Angolan Foreign Affairs minister, João Bernardo de Miranda opened this Sunday here the ministerial meeting of the political, defence and security organ of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), highlighting the delicate moment in which the meeting is being held.
João Miranda, who chairs the organ on behalf of Angola, referred that the meeting, that is due to close this Sunday and analyse the situation of the member states, considered to be necessary that participants of the meeting reflect on the same aspect, besides suggesting matters to be discussed at the meeting of the Heads of State on the SADC Troika. According to the Angolan government official, great part of the meeting might be dedicated to analysis of the situation in Zimbabwe, in the capacity of a SADC member country. Angola (chair-country), Swaziland (deputy-chair-country), and Tanzania (out-going chair-country) are part of the troika.
The meeting is being attended by the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defence, Home Affairs, and top officers of the armed forces, national police and directors of security of State of the three countries (Angola, Swaziland and Tanzania).
