Uganda: Tenants Quit Over Gun

Kampala — A landlord in Mbuya recently lost all his tenants after he acquired a gun. The tenants quit after Abdu returned home with a gun and claimed that his run-ins with stubborn tenants were now over. However, the move seems to have backfired, because the tenants decided to leave fearing that he would turn the gun on them due to his unpredictable moods and quarrelsome nature.

Abdu secretly joined the local defence unit last year after a tenant, who claimed to be a UPDF soldier, beat him up for summarily evicting him when he demanded for rent.
