Luanda — Angolan ambassador to Japan, Albino Malungo, said Friday in Tokyo that Japan is a strategic country to Angola in view of its technological and scientific potential.
The diplomat who was speaking at the end of a meeting with the Japanese minister of Economy, trade and Industry, Akira Amari, said Angola wants to cooperate with Japan in various sectors.
The ambassador expressed the wish that the world's second strongest economy participated in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of its infrastructures.
He also spoke of the need for a general accord of cooperation to be signed between Angola and Japan, setting the bases for the expansion of the partnership between the two countries.
In his turn, the Japanese minister said Angola is a priority to Japan in the African continent, adding that his country would want to enjoy cooperation in various spheres, particularly in the financial and industrial domains.
Akira Amari said as well Japan government is ready to help with the Angolan industrial development, with the latter granting security and assistance to Japanese firms interested to invest in the country that is now recording the continent's fastest growing economy.
On the other hand, the minister praised the Angolan Government's effort to recover the economy, stating that the country is on good track towards development, the reason why Japan pays a special attention to it.
