Luanda — The Press Freedom Day was celebrated Saturday, May 3, all over the world, a moment for journalists to think over the state of social communication when the issue of access to information and press freedom is persistently spoken of.
In addition to the elements above mentioned, there is freedom of speech as another essential premise in a democratic state.
May 3, was instituted 13 years ago by the United Nations, to celebrate the main foundations of the press freedom consecrated in the article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This year, the UN intends to see how the freedom of the media and the access to information are on the agenda on development, towards the promotion of the citizens' rights and the role of the communitarian media.
