Tunisia: Seventh Edition of 'Carthage Choreographic Encounters' to Showcase Arab And African Dance

Tunis — From May 1 to May 8, 2008, Tunis will play host to the 7 th edition of the "Carthage choreographic encounters" which are scheduled this year around the theme "Dance Africa, Dance".

The event which is jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage Preservation, "Cultures France" and the association "Ness El Fen" (people of the arts), led by the Tunisian choreographer Sihem Belkhodja, is a modern dancing competition which aims at promoting Arab and African dance , taking advantage of Tunisia's role as a bridge between these different cultures.

The organization of such an event remains a prowess in the face of the precariousness of Arab and African dancers.

Tunisian contemporary dance is also on the agenda thanks to a series of solo performances from young Tunisian choreographers and dancers. It should also be mentioned that Tunisian choreographers are among the best in the world.

No doubt this 7 th edition will rise up to the expectations of its promoters and the audience eagerly awaiting the event.
