The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in close consultation with the management of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) has with immediate effect announced an upward adjustment in the pump price of gasoline, diesel and kerosene on the market.

A statement from the Commerce Ministry signed by its Director of Information Services, Steve Flahn- Paye, said henceforth, gasoline will be sold for US$4,05 or its equivalent in Liberian Dollars, while diesel and kerosene will be sold for US4.70, and kerosene US4.75, or its equivalent in Liberian Dollars.

The statement said further that considering the exponential increase of petroleum product on the world market, the current price adjustment would have reflected a US$0.20 more, if the government of Liberia had not intervened to have the proposed price increase by 40 percent.

The ministry is therefore calling on the public to report any one caught selling gasoline, diesel, and kerosene above the aforementioned stipulated prices.
