The Bauchi state council of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has announced its decision to shift its SWAN inter-media week scheduled to begin this week to 17th of this month.

According to a statement issued by the state secretary of the association, Nasiru Abdullahi Kobi, it said its decision to shift the annual event was to give room for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming local government election fixed for this Saturday.

The statement advised media organisations to forward their completed registration forms before today Monday midnight, as any organisation that failed to do so will not be considered for registration. He said the SWAN week will be rounded up with an award night on 24th of this month at Zaranda Hotel,Bauchi, where some personalities that have contributed towards sports development in the state and the country in general will be honoured.

About five different events will be competed among six media organisations in the state, namely: Football, Athletics, Badminton, Table Tennis and Scrabble, while Tug of War will be a demonstration event during this year's SWAN week in the state.
