Luanda — Family and Woman Promotion Ministry (Minfamu) will use the National Journey of Family as a tribune of reflection and motivation for the role that families play in the conduct of the countries destination, with highlight to their participation in the elections, scheduled for next September.
The statement was manifested this Monday, in Luanda, by the incumbent Minister, Cândida Celeste da Silva, in the official opening act of the National Family Event, which started on May 1st and will close on 31st of the same month countrywide, under the motto: "Family and citizenship".
The minister informed that the holding of the journey aims not only to reflect on the problems that affect the families, but also to discuss and find ways for an active participation of families in the solution of their problems.
According to the official, the resolution of the problems should be done through policies and programmes in the sphere of sociability, democratic culture, tributary obligations, as well as the preservation of common and public properties.
At the end of her speech, the Cabinet minister appealed on family leaders to continue carrying out a key role for the cohesion of families, their socialisation and active participation in the development process of the country, especially in the tasks linked to the eradication of poverty.
The highest point of the National Event of Family will be the holding of the 11th National Council on Family to happen on May 15-17 in central Huambo province, with the participation of representatives from various social, political and religious spheres, and officials from all provinces of the country.
