Aligidir

The Aligider water diversion scheme that was damaged due to heavy rains is being renovated through the coordinated efforts of the Gedem and Homib construction companies, as well as the administration of the Tessenei sub-zone and the general public.

The renovation process of the scheme, which has been rendering service since 1928, is expected to be finalized before the onset of this year's rainy season, according to the supervisor of the project. About 180 people are actively participating in the undertaking around Talatasher, Sitimo and Aligidir.

Water diversion in the area plays a significant role in diverting river waters from around the Tessenei Bridge, in which the waters flows for almost 9 kilometers, to irrigate the extensive agricultural land in Aligidir, the reports added.
