Asmara — Members of the PFDJ branch in Melbourne, Australia, held congress, during which they assessed past work accomplishment and elected an Executive Committee. The members also conducted in-depth discussion on the programs envisaged for implementation this year.
Lauding the PFDJ's efforts to improve the people's standard living in line with its commitment to safeguard the nation's sovereignty, and backing up the development drive, the participants of the congress reiterated readiness to fulfill what is expected of them for the success of national programs.
They also commended the endeavors which the Eritrean government is exerting to promote peace in the Horn of Africa, especially in Sudan and Somalia. In this respect, the PFDJ members in Melbourne expressed determination to back up national development programs through strengthening their organizational capacity.
Meanwhile, PFDJ branches in the Australian cities of Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane, as well as in the New Zealand cities of Auckland and Wellington, conducted similar congresses, according to reports.
Moreover, Eritrean nationals residing in Perth City donated over 25,000 Australian dollars in support of national programs.
