Patrick Kibwota made his personal best throw of 69.70 metres in the men's javelin but luck eluded the ill-prepared Ugandan as he finished fourth at the Africa Senior Championships here on Sunday evening.

"It hurts to finish fourth. I knew I was taking back home bronze," the Ndejje University student told Daily Monitor in a somber mood. Kibwota was Uganda's best performer in the continental event.
