Middleweight boxer Johannes "Tito" Mwetupanga became only the second boxer after the legendary Joseph "Joe Archer" Shikongo in the history of Namibian boxing to trade blows across the Pacific Ocean.
Mwetupanga came up against Australian opponent Jeremy Allen and beat the hard-hitting Australian boxer hands down in a non-title six-round bout at Melbourne, Australia last Friday.
Going into the bout, Allen boasted an impressive record of four wins - with two of those bouts failing to go the full distance - three defeats and one draw from eight professional fights while the promising Mwetupanga, still a rookie in the real sense of professional boxing, was only making his second appearance in the paid ranks.
The Namibian fighter only turned professional last year and tasted victory in his debut fight when he easily knocked out his South African opponent in the second round during one of the under cards for Harry Simon's eagerly-awaited comeback fight at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
The 29-year old, who holds the rank of constable in the Namibian Police Force, is amongst a few promising boxers who have joined the stable of new boxing promoter Dolf Shilunga - operating under the banner of No Limit Boxing Promotions.
Other notable names in Shilunga's stable include current Namibian Welterweight Champion Bethuel "Tyson" Uushona and Gottlieb Shileka.
"I just returned from Germany where I have been busy negotiating and lining up fights for both Uushona and Shileka against yet to be named opponents, but we are certainly moving in the right direction.

"We will have some very good bouts on Namibian soil very soon, watch this space," boasted the young boxing mentor during an exclusive interview with New Era Sports.
