Namibia: Gladiators On the Rampage

Windhoek — The Namibian Women's Football team remain on course for a second successive appearance in the annual Confederation of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) tournament under way at Malanje, Angola.

The Brave Gladiators, as the team is affectionately known amongst its ardent supporters, opened their assault in the weeklong tourney with a 4-Nil thrashing of Swaziland and went on to see off Mozambique 4-2 in their second match.

The Namibians face hosts Angola in their last group match later today in a match that is of very little significance as the Namibians have already qualified for the semi-finals following their runaway victory in their opening two matches.

The Namibians were narrowly beaten by Zambia in the final of the regional competition last year.
