Founder of the PDP Washington DC, Chapter, Mrs Caro Nwosu, yesterday called on the Jim Nwobodo-led PDP Peace Committee to address problems of marginalisation of women in politics in the South-East.

Nwosu made the call in a memorandum submitted on behalf of the chapter to the Nwobodo Reconciliatory Committee in Awka.

"Locking women out of party meetings by security operatives and the lack of access to information on party decisions amounts to marginalisation.

"The government and the party should arrest this trend and do things correctly," she added in the submission.

Nwosu noted that the submission was aimed at fashioning out a road map for the restoration of peace, equity, justice and the lost glory of PDP in the South-East.

She pleaded that urgent attention should be given to women capacity builders and financiers in the party in the reconciliation process.

"A level playing field should be created for all women politicians in our great party who have expended time, energy and resources to serve the party," she said.

She criticised the idea of winner-takes-all syndrome, which, she said, must be banished, noting that it turned politics into a do-or-die affair.
