Audi Q7's sibling, the all-new Q5, is set to bring tough competition to the compact SUV segment.

The Q5 is aimed at the Freelander 2 and BMW's X3 and the manufacturers claim it will be the sportiest SUV when it hits UK showrooms in September. According to Barloworld, however, said it will only hit our showrooms next year.

It is looks unmistakably Audi especially with the distinctive Audi grille and optional LED daytime running lights strongly resembling those of the new A4.

The rear tailgate and bonnet are aluminium to reduce weight. Buyers will get the choice of three exterior packages. Standard Q5s will feature black body trim, but customers will also be able to select a full body colour option or even pick a contrasting shade. Sporty S Line versions provide a more aggressive look, and an optional off-road package includes beefy underbody protection and bigger alloy wheels.
