A Tutume Concillor, Tjishaba Chilume, who is also the wife to the former Member of Parliament Obed Chilume, appeared in court for allegedly failing to pay wages to one of her employees, Chituelele Gaothobogwe.

Gaothobogwe, who was Chilume's maid, alleges that she was not paid part of her salary from September 2002 to March 2005 and thus is claiming an amount of almost P14 000. She further alleges that she would sometimes be requested to help at the councillor's shop, a job she was also not paid for. Chilume's trial was supposed to start on Monday but could not because the prosecutor said that the state was not ready to proceed. He told the court that only one of his three witnesses had appeared in court. He reported that the complainant was not aware of the trial date as she had since relocated to Pandamatenga and they were not able to locate her. He asked the court to give them more time to locate her and the labour officer who had handled the case at the Labour Office who had since retired. The trial was therefore postponed to the 28th of November 2008.
