They may have been humiliated 9-0 in an away game to Ghana recently and losing out 13-1 on aggregate to their Ghanaian counterparts, but most of them will feature in the senior women's team.

According to the women team coach, Emelda Tumetsane, her girls are ready and have been doing well at training. This, she says, has given her confidence that they are ready to face any challenge that lies ahead of them in Angola.

"I am currently working with both the under-20 and the senior team. This is not that difficult for now because we have the same players save for a few over-20 years. I have been working with the girls from 2002 as an assistant coach and have enough experience to go further as the head now. I have seen what the team can offer in games against Lesotho, Namibia and Ghana recently and we are not the old bad team as we have shown massive improvement." The girls' trip will be sponsored by Angola according to Botswana Football Association's Tshepo Mphukuthi, who is also the team's technical advisor. The COSAFA tournament will see eight nations fighting it out in a two group points system where there will be four countries in each group with the best two in each group advancing to the quarterfinals. Our girls will be captained by Kgarebe Ramodimo.
