NAMIBIA'S senior national football sides showed good form with the Brave Warriors settling for a zero-all draw against Zimbabwe, while the women's side won both their matches in Angola.
But besides that, the under 20 national side failed to go past Botswana in a 1-0 loss to record a good weekend of results for Namibian footballers on foreign soil.
The Brave Warriors scored an important away draw in the newly introduced African Nations Championship (CHAN) against their neighbours in Harare, while the women beat Swaziland 4-2 and Mozambique 4-0 respectively, in their ongoing Cosafa Women's Championships in Luanda, Angola.
Disappointing news came from the under 20 side which failed to progress to the next stage of the Africa Youth Championship in their match played in Botswana's capital Gaborone.
The senior men's side will now play Zimbabwe at home in a fortnight, with the winner to take on South Africa on a home and away basis in November.
The Namibians, led by Arie Schans as head coach, will be required to turn the screws more tightly in defence on home ground, while their strike force is likely to receive a boost with the return of key striker, Pineas Jacob.
Jacobs was left home due to an injury, leaving SKW's towering goal-getter, Arent von Stryk and the opportunistic Civics marksman, Floris Diergaardt, to start in the Sunday encounter.
Orlando Pirates goalie Athiel Mbaha was chosen ahead of rival Esau Tjiuoro (Ramblers) in goal, while the central defence was guarded by Michael Pienaar, also at Ramblers and Blue Water´s strong tackler Gottlieb Nakuta.
Ramblers' fearless defender Jeremia Baisako was employed on the left of defence, while Orlando Pirates´ Steven Goagab, kept the Zimbabwean attack in check on the right.
Civics midfielder, Victor Helu, who has been overlooked by previous national team coaches played the entire game and he was assisted in that role by teammates, Jamu Ngatjizeko, Tugela Tuyeni and Brian Brendell.
Von Stryk (79th) was pulled off by Schans in the second half to give way to Mighty Gunners striker, Edward Damaseb, who made his debut for the national side.

Diergaardt (86th) also came off for Oshakati City´s enterprising striker, Muna Katupose, while Tuyeni (88th) had to make space for the classy African Stars frontman, Johannes Seibeb.
Namibia and Zimbabwe are also in the same Fifa 2010 World Cup qualifying group that also includes Guinea and Kenya.
The two countries are due to meet again later in May in a World Cup qualifying tie.
