Nigeria Football Association chairman, Sanni Lulu, said that the Super Eagles coaching crew has no option than to qualify Nigeria for the 2010 African Nations Cup and the World Cup, otherwise they will be out of job.

Lulu said in Abuja that Shuaibu Amodu and his assistants have been given the target of qualifying Nigeria for the continental and global soccer fiestas and it is a task that must be accomplished.

"We have set a target for Amodu and his assistants.

"You know that the qualifying series for the 2010 World Cup have been merged. This means that the Eagles must top their second round African qualifying group. They must also finish first in the third round series," Lulu remarked.

Nigeria is in the same group with South Africa, Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea. However, soccer analysts have urged the Super Eagles to gear up against the background of their poor performance at the 2008 Nations Cup last January, if not they will be shocked out by the minors in the group.

Lulu submitted that the NFA will do everything to prop up the team for the important job of qualifying for the World Cup. Nigeria did not qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

"This is why we are going ahead with the friendly game against Austria in Graz. That match is coming up on May 27. We expect the Super Eagles to put up their best in the qualifying series beginning in June.
