For the second year running, Globacom , Nigeria 's national telecommunications operator, is partnering with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ABJCCIMA) to successfully host the 3rd edition of the Abuja International Trade Fair, which kicked off last week Friday, May 2, 2008.

Managing director of Medalion Marketing, consultants to the Chamber, Mr. Fidel Ndubuisi, disclosed that Globacom sealed the deal with the Chamber due to the success of its participation and sponsorship of the 2007 edition.

Globacom's sales director, Mr. Ken Hall, reiterated the commitment of the company to promote commercial activities in the country as this gives true expression to our commitment to empower Nigerians and enable them to rule their world.

He added that Globacom is proud to be working with the Chamber and its consultant, Medalion Marketing, for the success of the 2008 edition of the Abuja International Trade Fair, noting that the combination had worked effectively to promote the prestige and status of the Fair both locally and internationally.

Over the past three years, Globacom has demonstrated its firm belief in empowering the people and has demonstrated this commitment through poverty alleviation schemes, which provide business opportunities for young school leavers and unemployed youths to own commercial telephone services.

The participation of Globacom at the Abuja International Trade Fair, according to Mr. Hall, "is a signpost of another opportunity to connect with its teeming subscribers and new customers not only in Abuja but also across the states around the federal capital".

Globacom will at the Fair showcase its vast array of niche products, which has given it the edge in the GSM market. Having pioneered 2.5G superior technology, Globacom also became the first GSM network in Nigeria to offer 3G Plus services to its subscribers.

With its 3G Plus advanced network, Globacom delivers more value added services than any other GSM network in the country.

A wholly Nigerian firm, Globacom has in the last five years been at the fore- front of empowering Nigerians to realise their fullest potentials by placing GSM services and the latest technology at their disposal at very reasonable costs.

The network has also introduced a lot of other life/business enhancing packages for subscribers including: Glo Mobile Internet, Magic Plus, GPRS, Point to Point Connectivity over GPRS, Glo MMS, Glo Mobile internet, Glo M-Banking, Vehicle Tracking, Fleet Management Solution and Glo Fax.
