Windhoek — THE slaying of Khomasdal couple Frans and Fransiena Schiefer, allegedly by their 18-year-old son, returned to the Windhoek Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Romeo Schiefer, who has been in Police custody since his arrest on January 19, was told that the Police investigation into the case had not been completed.
Public prosecutor OJ Lino told Magistrate Tuyenikelao Haikongo that a further investigation into the evidence had been ordered by the Prosecutor General's office.
Schiefer's case was postponed until July 2, and he was ordered to remain in custody.
Lino noted that Scheifer had been informed of his right to formally apply for bail, but said that no such application had yet been received by the court.
Schiefer's legal representatives, Dos Santos and Co, were not present in court yesterday. Schiefer's parents, both 50 years old, were found dead at their home on January 18.
His mother's body was found lying in the kitchen with multiple gunshot wounds and a knife stuck in her throat. His father's body was found in the couple's bed.
He had been shot once in the head, apparently by an assailant standing outside the window. A knife and a CZ pistol were found at the scene.
Police also indicated that, although the family safe was found open, although nothing appeared to have been taken from there.
Following the discovery of the bodies at around 23h20 that Friday, Police questioned all three the couple's children.
Romeo, the youngest child, was arrested the next day.
