NAMIBIA Premier League log leaders Oshikandela Ramblers' title aspirations will be brought to a real test tonight when they lock horns with Brian Isaacs' Orlando Pirates.

The match is billed for the Khomasdal Stadium at 19h00.

Ramblers are currently leading the NPL log standings with 29 points from 15 matches played, while the Buccaneers have 26 points from 15 league matches played so far.

Both sides did not take part in any league proceedings at the weekend as some of the players in both sides were away on national duty with the Brave Warriors in Zimbabwe.

Pirates were initially scheduled to play Civics last weekend, while Ramblers had a date with Black Africa.

Pirates coach Brain Isaacs, who took over from Woody Jacobs in March, says a win will surely boost the title hopes of his side.

He said the team was only rocked by injuries of two key players.

Defender Ivan Makina is unlikely to feature for Pirates as he is nursing a knee injury.

Inspirational midfielder, Johannes Seibeb, is also doubtful for tonight's clash as he is reportedly suffering from chicken pox.

Said Isaacs: "At this stage the training is well ahead of the match.

We are preparing well for the match.

We are really looking forward for the encounter.

At this stage of the season, a win is very important." Pirates will once again be counting on key players such as Riaan Cloete and the enterprising Klas Blom to steer them to an important victory against the star-studded Ramblers, who also welcome back key players from international duty.

Captain Michael Pienaar and the hardworking Jeremia Baisako are all available for selection.

But there are injury worries to defender Luther Kanalelo and striker Pinias Jacob, who were forced to withdraw from the national side that travelled to Zimbabwe at the weekend.

¨The injuries to Pinias and Kanalelo have really affected us as these two players are crucial in our camp.

But there is nothing we can do at the moment and we have players that are strong in character and that can jump into their spots and take over the responsibilities," said Ramblers' defender Donelly Nell.

¨ You must remember that is a ball game and anything is possible.

The spirit is great really, and I must thank the technical staff for working hard on building the spirit in our camp.

I think Pirates have a good squad and to be honest I don't really indulge into "the who is the problem type" as the job needs to be done on the pitch on the day." - Namibia Sport ---- Namibia third at COSSASA THE Namibian boys and girls who competed at the recently concluded COSSASA Games in South Africa, produced two silver and eight bronze medals.

Last year Namibia obtained three gold medals.

Namibia Schools Sport Union (NSSU) co-ordinator Solly Duiker argues that the competition was much stiffer this year, adding that a total of 20 new records were set overall.

Namibia came third in the overall standings out of six competing countries.

South Africa was first, followed by Botswana in second place, while Lesotho was fourth.

Swaziland and Zambia ended in fifth and sixth positions respectively.
