With barely three days of play to go to the end of the MTN Elite two championship, no team is yet certain to ascend to division one next year. After the 12th day of play last Sunday, May 4, 2008, eight teams are still in the race for the three places in division one.

Danay FC, Scorpion FC and Sahel FC are running neck to neck for the lone qualification ticket in Zone I. Danay and Scorpion are topping the zone with 21 points each, closely followed by Sahel FC with 20 points. FC Pilote in the 4th position with 19 points is not completely left out of the race as victory in the last three matches could still see them occupy the apex of the classification table.

The situation is similar in Zone II where there are three teams with 22 points each and a fourth with 19 points. Achille Yaounde occupies the first position thanks to a +9 goal advantage, followed by Panthere with +7 goals and Noblesse FC with +3 goals. Renaissance with 19 points could still make a come back in the competition.

In zone III, the situation is somehow different with AS Matelot occupying the first position with 23 points, followed by a drop out from division one, AS Cetef with 20 points.

However, the hopes of clubs like Yong Sports, Kumba Lakers, CPS of Bertoua, Jeunesse, Olympique and Diable Rouge, have already been dashed to the wall as they occupy the bottom position in their respective zones.
