Five-month-old Esther Amutusiimire needs $14,900 (about sh25m) for open heart surgery in India, writes Chris Kiwawulo. Amutusiimire has a congenital heart disease (Truncus Arteriosus type II), said the Uganda Heart Institute, Mulago.

The medics recommended that Amutusiimire be taken to Frontier Lifeline Medical Centre because the operation cannot be carried out in Uganda.

Any assistance could be channelled through the Uganda Heart Institute (Amutusiimire Esther) on account number 0140005985901 Stanbic Bank, Wandegeya.
