Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) is expecting to award cash prizes to Taifa Stars players and coaches after successfully winning the penultimate first leg match of the African Nations Cup qualifiers for domestic based players against Uganda The Cranes held at CCM Kirumba stadium in Mwanza last Saturday.

The cash presentation would be held today as the team sponsors Serengeti Breweries are hosting a dinner gala to the entire team members and officials at the New Africa Hotel in Dar es Salaam.

The team beat Uganda by 2-0 goals to ease workload ahead of their second leg match to be played at Kampala's Nelson Mandela stadium on either May 17 or 18.

According to TFF's secretary general Fredrick Mwakalebela his body would dish out Sh100,000 for each player and Sh150,000 for the coaches and other technical staff.

The brewers have set aside $100 (Sh118,000) for each player who traveled to Mwanza during the match.

"The cash prizes are aimed at motivating the players for their hard work to earn a comprehensive victory over the visiting Ugandan side," said Mwakalebela.

While Stars are partying for the good performance, Mwakalebela made a call to other stakeholders to congratulate the team and motivate them ahead of their Kampala assignment.
