MR. Joseph Ebow Quarshie, a former president of the Ghana Bar Association, and Treasurer of the Pan African Lawyers Union, left Accra on Tuesday, to represent the Pan African Lawyers Union, at the Annual General Meeting of the International Legal Assistance Consortium (ILAC) in Rome.

The AGM starts from the 7th and ends on the 10th of May 2008, with the election of new officers for the next two years.

The meeting will be attended by representatives of the ILAC, institutional members, ILAC Officers, as well as some distinguished guest from governmental and international institutions.

The ILAC is a consortium of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) throughout the world, with experience in providing technical legal assistance in post conflict situations.

It has more than 30 member organizations, representing over 3 million judges, prosecutors, lawyers and academics.
