The Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese of the Methodist Church is to establish a Teacher Training School College at Abura, in the Ahanta West District.

As a result, a special committee has been appointed, by the standing committee of the church, to consider the modalities, possibly to begin with temporary accommodation and accreditation.

This was disclosed by the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev John Harvey-Ewusi, at the 47th Annual Synod of the Church, held at Kwesimintsim last week.

It was under the theme 'O Holy Spirit, establish us in the Lord Jesus Christ for the unfinished Business.'

A token of acceptance, according to the Bishop, to show appreciation to the donors of the land, has been done, and documentation to properly own the land, was also in the process.

Inspection of the land has been made by a Quantity Surveyor, and pillars have been erected on the land to demarcate it.

The Diocese, according to the Bishop, as part of her contribution, also provided furniture to the Abnuesi Methodist Primary/JSS.

The Diocese, however, would continue to sponsor youth organizations, under the Youth Council, for training courses in leadership roles, seminars and retreats

The Mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Mr. Phillip Kwesi Nkrumah, addressing the Synod, congratulated the Church, for the numerous school projects it had built, to supplement government efforts in providing quality education.
