CNN anchor and news reporter Fionnuala Sweeney will moderate the Global Media Face-Off (GMFO) at Indaba 2008, themed "2010 - Readiness on all fronts." The GMFO, taking place on Sunday 11 May from 11am, is one of South African Tourism's flagship annual media events and presents an opportunity for the organisation to engage with local and international media on issues affecting tourism in South Africa.

"Having Fionnuala on board is a great coup and re-affirms the significance and caliber of Indaba. Sweeney has a distinctive style that we are confident will bring candour and insightfulness to the media debate around our destination, our readiness for 2010 and our global growth ambitions," says Moeketsi Mosola, SA Tourism CEO.

"She is a well-known media personality with impeccable journalistic credentials and her agreement to moderate the 2008 Global Media Face Off is evidence of this destination's status as an international news story and of the global media's interest in 2010 readiness and capability."

Sweeney anchors the prime time evening news programme World News Europe on CNN International. Sweeney was the launch anchor of World News Europe, having previously launched CNN This Morning in September 1997, the network's first European breakfast news programme produced from London.

Indaba 2008 takes places 10 - 13 May at the International Convention Centre Durban. For more information, go to www.indaba-southafrica.co.za.
