Angola: U.S. Oil Company Interested in Working in Country

8 May 2008

Ottawa — Representatives of the US oil company Apex Petroleum Engineering on Tuesday in Ottawa (Canada) met with the Angolan ambassador to that country, Miguel Nzau Puna, to whom they manifested their interest in working in the Angolan crude market.

During the meeting, the businesspeople explained their company's potential and the benefits that it would bring to the Angolan oil industry, by introducing modern techniques in prospecting and extraction of oil.

They added that considering the company's experience in the training field, they can create in Angola educational centres to train Angolan personnel in various levels of speciality, according to the needs to be presented.

Ambassador Nzau Puna said that the Angolan government is interested in co-operating with Apex Petroleum Engineering and guaranteed his support, from the granting of visas and information, to facilitate their entrance in the Angolan market.

Apex Petroleum Engineering was represented at the meeting by its chief consultants, John Harkrider and Allan Jensen.
